Q: Why are you partnering with another bank?
A: There are many benefits that come with added resources. You will gain several branch and ATM locations, more customer service personnel, products and services like ID Protect identity theft monitoring, and free retirement planning consultations.
Q: What changes can I expect?
A: The bank‘s name officially changes to Firstar Bank on April 1. The Firstar Bank name and logo will appear on the building, website, and communication materials. Our systems will remain the same until the computer conversion which is scheduled to take place August 19, 2024. You will receive detailed information about the computer conversion well in advance.
Q: Will the Stigler branch stay open?
A: Yes. Firstar Bank has long-standing connections to the Stigler community and fully intends to continue to be Haskell County‘s bank of choice.
Q: Will you still make decisions locally?
A: Yes. Our employees, officers, and bank management will continue to serve our customers just as we always have.
Q: Will my funds continue to be FDIC insured?
A: Yes. There will not be any changes to FDIC insurance which provides $250,000 of coverage per depositor. In many cases, accounts can be insured for even more.
Q: Will my direct deposits continue without interruption?
A: Yes. Your direct deposits will not be affected.
Q: Will my loan or deposit rates stay the same?
A: Interest on fixed rate CDs and loans will remain the same until maturity. Our deposit rates will continue to be determined by local market conditions as they always have.
Q: Will I keep my existing account number?
A: Most likely, yes. There may be a few account numbers that need to change. We will be in touch with those affected well in advance and we will bear any costs associated with needed changes.
Q: Will my account features remain the same?
A: There may be minor changes to the accounts we offer. Because Firstar is in larger markets, their services are priced very competitively which may mean savings for you.
Q: Will I be able to use the checks I have?
A: Yes. You can continue using your First National Bank of Stigler checks indefinitely.
Q: Will I use the same debit card?
A: For now, yes. If there is a need for you to change cards, you will be notified well in advance of the August 19, 2024 transition date.
